I read today that Sunderlands 23yo keeper Anthony Patterson, is attracting interest from Wolves and Leicester.
I've watched him twice this season, both 90 mins and his distribution with feet was superb and his GK also very good.
He's one to watch for future.
Weirdly I woke up this morning and had dreamt of waking Wednesday morning, checking the news to find we hadn't signed anyone else.
Does it mean something?
Not sure it means diddly squat in what may actually happen in reality but does mean I've become too obsessed with the Nunez and Cucu threads!
Concur it’s most likely where we’ll end up, but it is a massive gamble despite Potters PR.
Squad is fine until injuries start.
May end up as the biggest defensive error of the season. Can only hope it isn’t :albion2:
We really dont boss..... it will make a rod for own own backs.
The instinct of a striker and timing of runs into the box is just different to midfielders/wingers.
Yes, Tross and Ali J are capable of spectacular shots (as good midfielders are), but being in the right place for the scraps, tap...
We score lots of goals because we have given up defensive solidity to play higher up the pitch. Many 3 at the back teams are more vulnerable when attacked. It’s a quid pro quo.
We do need a striker, in the same way you do need car insurance, even if you don’t crash, you need just it in case...
Really convinced Edouard will be a fail to any PL club spending 30+ million. He's just not as good as that garbage league makes him look.
Not saying he'll be a massive flop, but any expectation of him scoring anywhere near that level are misguided imho.
Much rather Brewster or Origi personally.
Cant say i'm a fan of this moneyball thing, to me it doesnt look like its been that big a success in the recruitment of first team ready players, too many flops and not enough resale value. Its obvs Blooms way with the stats, probability algorithms and all that jazz....... but it is the best...
What a thoroughly depressing article. All around are finding attacking options and our club have shifted from looking for striker to laying the groundwork for the "happy with what we have" PR bull$hit.
An injured Romanian, a non prolific Bundesliga 2 attacker who shows nothing that he'd cut it...
