I'd agree with that list. Feels like it is a bigger list than at the end of last season weirdly because we have sold White and let a few players leave who might have been involved. Alternative to a centre back is a right/right wing back to free up Veltman to play centre back the whole time

Disagree re Andone. Cost £5.5 million and scored a few crucial goals last season to help keep us up and the second goal at Watford this season, which was a big part in our win. And we may get our money back for him when fit. You, like the rest of us, have no idea about how much we focused on...

[Albion] There is ZERO chance of SIGNING anyone today.

Can you not understand why people are bored with you "pointing out the club's failure" every transfer window? Is there not a bit of you that can see how boring it gets when we still have about a month until the window shuts. Ideally we'd have done business earlier but we have already made a...

Great. Always funny when people put with all due respect. As I said earlier, I wanted us to have a striker by now and am surprised we let Murray go without a replacement lined up. However, you do panic every year and say we are bound to go down when we don't get our signings and we have stayed...

I would also have liked us to have signed a striker by now but, to be fair, you do moan about our signings/lack of signings every window and we have stayed up the last three seasons. Maybe have some patience. Barring Chelsea, I don't think many clubs have made more than the two first team...

Haven't you been doing that for years? Saying we will not go up or be relegated? And been proved wrong for years? I suppose by law of averages you will be proved right at some point. And no doubt you'll go on about it for years. In the meantime, it is tiresome

Are you serious? Matt Upson and Liam Ridgewell were when we were in the Championship and, as you say, Collins was reputed. It was never confirmed so not sure what question it answers

I assume we're in the hunt for a winger. With Skalak not featuring last season, we only really have Knockaert, Izquierdo and March as wingers and, since we tend to play two of them, it leaves us with no cover if one is injured, suspended or loses form. Judging by Albion's usual methods, it may...

Not sure recent title winners is relevant to him as they are extremely unlikely to do it again. What may be relevant, if it is truly between us and Leicester (and I've seen no suggestion we are still interested in the last few weeks), would be first team football. He would almost certainly get...

I thought he played further forward quite a bit at PSV. And, as said below, he did very well there for Netherlands in those two games

If we sign Bissouma and Hayden, I see Hayden being brought as a fourth central midfield option and Propper becoming a more direct competition to Gross. The fact that Hayden is home grown and can play in other positions if needed is more a bonus

He also would complete our home grown player numbers meaning we could sign a centre back from overseas, where we could get better value

Agreed. Hopefully Bissouma and two others will come in. Could be a fourth of CM/AM to replace Baldock (the former meaning Propper challenges Gross more) but that is less urgent

Sounds like there are a few in progress. Would be good to get a few in this week so they'll have the friendlies in the UK to work with the squad.

Exactly. We undoubtedly need to score more from midfield and I actually think Propper is capable of that and, if he scores one, will get more goals. However, anyone who seriously thinks we will be able to get a 10 goal midfielder (and that Gross did not score enough last season) is deluded.

You do realise that only 22 players scored 10 goals or more in the Premier League this season? Of those, only seven players played for teams outside the big six. Most teams at our level struggle to get 10 goal plus strikers, let alone midfielders.

In that case, we are going to struggle quite a lot this season. The minimum we need is a goalkeeper, centre back, central midfielder and another winger. Ideally, we'd also get another defensive option and maybe even another attacker to replace Baldock so four is the minimum.

[Albion] There is ZERO chance of SIGNING anyone today.

Agreed. I always think posts where people moan about signing young players as if they think it means we won't be focusing on the first team are ridiculous. So because we need a couple of first team signings, we shouldn't even consider the future.

Not really. You are comparing chalk and cheese. I was looking at what they spent in the summer, which is the only fair comparison, you are looking at both transfer windows combined (not a fair comparison).

Thanks. Interesting so a) Bournemouth/Watford are the exception and b) looking at the info I found it looks like these figures are in their first season (not just the summer transfer window) so not a fair comparison
