Haha...only 10 x 8 foot but got a 15 x 12 foot conservatory that I can use to relieve the pressure. Will only be growing one or two plants of each, maybe a couple more of the common varieties.

I'm sure i read somewhere recently that potatoes that were "chitted" were no further forward than those that were just "bunged in"

Just plant some spuds from Tescos mate, they'll be fine

have you got any form of protection (greenhouse, poly house etc).....you can plant potatoes now in tubs and keep them under cover in the cold so they can be ready for xmas

Yeah get them from the supermarket and pot them up. Just be a bit careful as most supermarket herbs are grown hot, so they're very soft and tender. Make sure you harden them off for a couple of weeks by putting them outside in a sheltered spot during the day and then bringing them in at night...
