I'm not suggesting its right or wrong, but I do think that enough 'evidence' is in the public domain that even if the courts overturn the original verdict, he will still be toxic. I'm also not talking about trial transcripts or anything factual, but IMO only a substantial piece of new evidence...

With regard to this comment and a number of previous comments referencing mob rule. Yes, its very easy for people to "launch a crusade through social media", however, for it to become popular opinion and turn into "mob rule" it needs to actually be widely supported. Many people launch crusades...

I suggest you ask the mods to remove this post. Lee Hughes was found guilty of causing death by dangerous driving (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lee_Hughes) and therefore is not, as you have stated, rather libelously, "a murderer", unless of course you have knowledge of another crime you are...

guilty, appeal, still guilty, appeal, denied, protest... I think this is the sequence so far. The conviction was upheld rather than the original appeal refused I believe. A significant difference legally - not so much "I'm not looking" as "I looked and I agree" from an Appeal Judge.

With most conviction/profession combinations that bar you from something, you are excluded from the Professional Body because they have a code of conduct that you have failed to live up to in the past. On top of that there are a number of professions that you legally cannot practice unless you...

This is the key point here on whether its right to give him or her the benefit of the doubt. I'll wager no-one on here was present at the trial and heard all the evidence but the jury did. And two Judges have subsequently read the full transcript and made a certain judgement... ...it was...

This. The FA/FL/PFA all seem to lack a "disrupt" clause that would be triggered (as none seem to want to invoke one), so Ched can resume his membership of the PFA immediately. However, he is required to declare his previous conviction to prospective employers until such time as it is spent...

I'm in agreement with a few people on here... Ched has served his time and in accordance with the law he should be allowed back to work. Unless the PFA/FA have, and wish to exercise, a "bring the game into disrepute" clause in the licence then it is right that he be allowed to rejoin the ranks...

Certain offences are never "rehabilitated" [eg murder] and must always be declared. Certain occupations/roles/checks made are also exempt from the Act. But for a "day-to-day check", a spent conviction does not need to be declared and will not be returned on a check. Telling someone else about...

Am I not correct in that all players in the English league must be signed up with the PFA (or is it the FA they register with?). I'm sure that within that contract there will be a "bringing the game into disrepute" clause as these are standard in almost any personal contract (employment, union...

Of all the clubs in the FL, I believe that we are the most inclusive of all... Children-Friendly, Gay-Friendly, Female-Friendly, etc ad infinitum for any section of our local society. I have read his supporters' website and read bits and pieces on his trial and appeal in the mainstream...
