Bit disturbing that this new evidence wasn't available at the time. I would think any conversations or people she had contact with either just before or after would have been spoken to. Has someone changed their statement or has this come from the girl since in conversations with people about...
If you are going to quote then get it right, you break it up to suit you.
I said I didn't like him, meaning it makes no difference if he raped her or not. So if he wins his appeal, I still don't like him. Nothing to do with casual sex or rape. Just because the father is paying for his defence...
Like you people are entitled to an opinion, just because it differs from you. People are free to dislike him surely. So why should anyone feel uncomfortable. My personal opinion is that he had no thought for anyone that night and that he is a waste of space. Makes no difference if he raped her...
So why should anybody feel uncomfortable. Plenty of guilty people get away with being found not guilty and plenty of innocent people unfortunately get found guilty.
That can include any new evidence. As you ask who else should be complaining, why not start with his fellow pros, they are not falling over themselves to shout his innocence. A lot of you seem to be going on about points of law and technicalities. The fact is that the general public don't need...
I think you could apply that logic to all guilty verdicts. What is beyond reasonable doubt. We all have opinions and having served on a jury, it is a hard job to all agree. It's easy to look in and give opinions like we are experts and that somehow all these professionals have got it wrong...
Football s different from normal employment, the don't advertise for footballers. They approach them and enter into discussions that may end in a contract offer .So no issues about refusing to hire him will come into it. I would think any club with any sense would steer clear of him. Nothing to...
I sometimes wonder where you get your information from, as far as I am aware that most clubs will not touch him and it is unlikely he will get a job offer until after the outcome of his review. No club wants the circus that has happened since he has come out of prison.
Really good points, but I would say that you are banging your head against a wall. Drew will not be moved, he likes to think he has more information and facts then what the jury had to sit through. He will say that there have been miscarriages of justice in the past, however a lot of that has to...
You miss the point completely, McDonald and the girl met and made the decision to go back to the hotel. The inference from that is that two consenting adults decided to maybe have sex. Most people know that drink takes a while to kick in, but the fact is that these two met. Evan let himself into...
If a club wanted to get rid of its sponsors for maybe a better deal, might be an idea to think about signing Evans. The sponsors break the contract, leaving a club free to get a better deal. Now that Oldham have said that the deal is off, will the sponsors come back or will other sponsors come in
It would be the same for any club, does not matter how big they are. Clubs have sponsors and sponsors have customers, bottom line is they will not take a risk on their profit margins and be seen to endorsing a convicted rapist. If he can overturn his conviction, then fine.
Can not see the point in going round in circles on this thread on whether people think he is guilty or not guilty. Unless he gets his conviction overturned, he will not be joining any club. Fans, non fans and sponsors will not allow it. At present he has been found guilty and people will not...
I stand corrected, so in that case, it can only be new evidence and not what was presented in court the last time or had the Judge summed up. That would make it harder for him then.
No, they can only look at all the evidence presented during the trial. They could then send it back and I think they can suggest that the courts look at it again, that can include allowing another appeal or a retrial.
