The point I disagree with is calling an individual selfish for voting for a costed government policy.
You might disagree with the policy but you shouldn't have ago at the individual for voting in a way that suits his family
I don't think putting your family first is selfish, it's a natural instinct.
If you went out of your way to stitch up another family then that would be.
Buying a HA house is not a selfish act, even if some people don't agree with it as a political policy it's not selfish
