There is not a lot of value for this one unfortunately. On Bet 365 Canc 5-2, Sagan 11-2, Degenkolb 13-2 none of those are worth a punt with so many variables. I've chucked a speculative 50p e/w on Navardauskas at 150-1 and that is it.
I have heard that too, makes you further question why Lotto are doing any work. He needs to get his head right soon or he might as well go home, a sprinter who is afraid of going fast is not a lot of use.
He is one of the outside punts I was considering for tomorrow. Terpstra being the other...
Just re-watched the final 10km from yesterday. The leaders of the peloton were:
10-7.5km Lotto
7.5-5km Taxo Sinkoff
5-3.5km OPQS
3.5-finish line Giant
Giant like to take it up with 2-3km to go, and the others seem to be letting them. It is most peculiar.
Interesting that Saxo have been...
Why are Lotto helping control the break? It is like they do not learn, Greipel has finished 18th and 23rd on the two sprint stages. They have to make Giant do all the work, it really is a no brainer.
No chance for Spartacus today, he will be trundling along in the peloton expending as little energy as possible. Tomorrow is his day, and should be the highlight of the first week.
Only one bet for today Coquard £1 at 20-1 e/w and on the nose. I don't think anyone else believes that they can beat Kittel, I don't really think Coquard can, but at least he thinks he can do it.
It is probably heart ruling head though, he is my new favourite sprinter.
Too easy, Kittel won't be beaten unless he falls off. Or Lotto and Quickstep stop doing all the work from 10km out, it is easy for Giant to just do the work in the last 3km. The other teams have to make them do more, that was what was so remarkable about HTC, they would lead out from 20/25km out...
That was as boring as a stage of a bike race can be. Two man break inevitably getting caught, followed by a bunch sprint where the obvious favourite wins easily. Stages like yesterdays are the really good ones, keep watching and you will see some great entertainment.
Coquard looked very good in that intermediate sprint, he seems to be going well so far. It would be nice if he, or someone else, could beat Kittel today. Otherwise the sprint stages might start to look a bit like a procession.
Gerrans? Phil and Paul, really! Do stop just talking about the four or five English speaking riders you know about. They still talk about Kittel like he is some newbie outsider, rather than the favourite.
Who is on Eurosport commentary? I have not checked yet, but it could be the equally risible Carlton Kirby. Such a shame that these clowns still get the gig as there are some decent commentators and pundits working on the lesser races.
Also, can we take the Cycling Geeks attitude to trolls and...
Wow, that new Taxo Sinkoff kit is absolutely disgusting. Surely they realise that fluro colours are a purely Italian thing.
On to predictions. For the GC:
1. Contador
2. Froome
3. Nibali
Pretty wild, out there prediction, I know. These guys are the real quality of the field though and the...
