I tried to ease off posting a bit as I've hogged the thread as it is again. Anyway, here's another one. I think it's been a great race from start to finish. The parcours have been particularly good, encouraging exciting attacking racing. I think the greatest shame about losing Bert and...

My final little bet on what has been a profitable TdF for me is a £1 e/w on Bennati @ 50/1 I fully expect Kittel to win, but there's no value in him or the other big guns. Bennati has got stronger as the race has gone on and Saxo have already had a great plan B tour. He's their lead sprinter...

I've no objection to watching TT's personally. Had Froome & Bert still been in today could have proved really edge of your seat viewing. As it was the only real drama today was poor Bardet having a mechanical which cost him his 5th place on GC to TJVG. Looking at Huzarski's legs there is...

Ooh, good heads up. I'd never heard of him so did some googling and saw he came third in junior Paris-Nice (among other things) The two ahead of him there have surnames that ring bells for me. Is the Van Hooydonck any relation of Edwig?

I second that until you get to the bit about young French cyclists. Personally I like to see French cyclists doing well, and especially youngsters coming through. Although I'm not really bothered by the nationality of a cyclist, more about the style with which they ride, French being the...

Thanks for the photos. Particularly loving this one  Hope you've had a good day. Exciting stage today, and one for the romantics with that masterstroke from Garmin to launch Navardauskas for the well deserved win. Takes the edge off their disappointment for Bauer the other day...

Encouraging news from those numbers. As to Podium. I'm inclined to agree, but would love Pinot to hold off Valverde. Pinot, whilst not great at TTing isn't a total mug at it either and a podium spot is a massive prize for him to fight for. I know it's only for 5th place, but it'll be...

Wasn't it just! Superb action throughout the whole stage. Particularly liking the Bardet attack on the last descent. Got to hand it to the organisers, they've created some cracking parcours for this years edition. Of course, the riders still have to race them to make it exciting, and perhaps...

I'd love to hear you in a post race interview Moto. I can barely make sense of half your posts, composed no doubt sitting comfortably?, so breathless and shattered on the finish line I reckon you'd be priceless

Exactly! Sky's last hope is to wrap G in cotton wool these next two days and hope for a miracle of preventing a bunch sprint on Friday (they may need to have a chat with OPQS about that  ), but it's a massive long shot. Or else Nieve pulls something amazing out of the bag either...

Spell it how you like, we both know he looks absolutely nothing like G  which is who should have been there today. The wheels have seriously come off for Sky in this Tour that's for sure.

Thanks SB. It's a good point re: Sky. The train hasn't ever been in motion I think to hoover up any bonifications has it. Even little Bretagne - Séché Environnement must have earnt more from their breakaway riders.

Big chapeau to Pinot today, great ride! By far and away the biggest winner on the day, as Valverde especially would have been looking to put some half decent time into him on that descent. Biggest surprise has to be TJVG. All those kind of riders are likely to have one bad day in the...

Thanks Bold. I'm quite liking this plan B betting - bigger stakes on shorter odds riders. I got Rogers @11/1 so returned £68.75 profit. Take out the £4 on my other four riders today (Gautier and Kwia gave it a good go) add in the £50 from Kristoff and that's £118.75 profit in two straight...

Went breakaway betting mad last night.. 50p e/w: Kwia, Gautier, Molard, Spilak. £5 e/w Rogers. 3 of those five in the break. Happy with that so far.

Tomorrow's stage looks like another belter, parcours wise, and the riders haven't let us down so far. Would have been great to see if Nibs could have put time into Bert & Froome on the final descent. As it is, he's no need to go risking anything now, but I can see a few of the other GC lot...

Oh right, thanks. Seems Tommy V is marmite for cycling fans from what I can gather. I'm in the love him camp personally, although I can well imagine he could be 'difficult' as a person.

I can't quite work out what's going on there, apart from Tommy V having a go at the fans, because I can't see what they did or hear what's being said. Any ideas?

We're not disagreeing because as I said, had it not been for my Kristoff bet I'd be rooting for the bunch not to catch them as well. I read that Bauer didn't even get the red numbers apparently either, so I assume they must have given them to Elmiger instead, which seems odd as it was certainly...
