I bet Ashley Barnes earned a lot less than Ward in the Championship, at both Albion & Burnley. I'd imagine he's had something of a bonus now he's helped them into the Premier League, probably including a pay rise.
I guess the only thought is that if we offered him a *3 year deal at a lower wage, then he is guaranteed more in the long term.
*Did I suggest the Albion offer a player a deal longer than 12 months, what on earth am I saying? :dunce:

Which basically means, and there is no other way to look at it, that if a club is prepared to pay him it, then he is worth it. If no-one pays him £13K a week, then he isn't worth it.
