Worth bearing in mind too that a lot of the German soldiers were teenage boys. This POW was 16 years old. 16 years old FFS!

By all means point the finger at De Gaulle but the courage of the French Resistance shouldn't be underestimated. A lot of them (especially women) gave their lives for their country. A lot of them ended up at Auschwitz.

156,000 troops crossed over on 6th June 1944
Troops from United Kingdom, Canada, US, Australia, Belgium, Czechoslovakia, France, Greece, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway and Poland.
11,590 aircraft were...
