I don't know why you bother to be honest. There are some on this board who won't believe any fault of Gus, and nothing you say will convince them. Some simply want to lay the blame for this saga totally at the door of Paul Barber and / or Tony.
I'd give up - you won't change any minds. Your...
No - that doesn't follow. I think as assistant Jones has been delegated to do them, for whatever reason.
Gus did pretty much all the interviews for 3 years - and then suddenly stopped without explanation - we got Charlie, and Charlie again, sometimes Tanno, but no Gus. And no reason was ever...
I think if he quit and then miraculously walked into another job immediately, and there was proof of prior contact, then the new club would very much have had to pay the compensation.

But of course the compensation for another club...
If only the compensation had been paid. Sure, Gus would have left, but it would have been an amicable split, and who knows, without the sulking, and a new man in charge, we may even have been promoted.
I can see where you are coming from with a lot of this, but deeply feel there are more reasons to dislike Gus than you highlight, and think you are really way off with your brief paragraph before the EDIT.
That is a really good summary.
Heaven help Sunderland if ever they have a vital club changing match with Newcastle and Gus is more interested in Project Poyet, planning his next career move, and going into a major sulk.
