Yep I have seen this and watched the documentaries so it is theoretically possible and lots of time and research goes into it, and even possible time scales. I just don't think it will happen in 10 years. I haven't got a problem with them trying though.

I doubt it would be that soon and if anything you would have to start with a permanent moon base. Getting to Mars before then is highly likely to be a suicide mission and you would have to remotely set up a tried and tested survivable habitat before any human arrival. I wouldn’t fancy Mars...
