Yeah done that before too lol but have to make sure old key is secure around the ignition other wise car could cut out.

If you not lost the key use the original chip get a key cut buy a new fob from like e-bay that holds a chip and then put all together when completed put key in ignition turn till all lights are on the dash board press the alarm on fob and this will reset the alarm, job done for around £15...
