Surely if someone smashes a window or a bog they can be arrested and chucked in a police van. Don't see why the rest of us should be subjected to kettling and herded around by riot police. Or is that too simplistic a view ? !

I well remember the Shoreham protests against the veal trucks some 20-odd years ago. Sussex police were great but when a few nutters turned up and smashed a couple of windows the mets turned up in large numbers, full riot gear and proceeded to baton charge everyone, women, elderly and children...
