To give a feel to how insignificant we are in the scale of things, I read recently that if you place a grain of sand on your forefinger and hold it, at arms length, against the night sky, the area of sky obscured by the grain of sand will contain 10,000 galaxies, each containing 100 billion stars.

I'm not, I would just like to believe that our consciousness transcends death. No one can say to the contrary.

Hypnotic regression of past lives / Life / Out of body, near death experiences - none of it proof, but better than the alternative of oblivion.

There is a pre life / life / after life, it's just that we're not (in our human existence) capable of understanding it.

How would babies and very young children (that die) enter an afterlife? Would they spend eternity as infants, or instantly achieve maturation? As much as I'd like to, I can't get my head around the prospect of an afterlife that is based on the age at which we die.
