I seem to recall a campaign to get plod out of their panda cars, and on the streets, to catch thieves, rapists and drug-dealers. Now it would appear the height of some peoples concerns is people talking on their mobiles when driving ???

A simple yes/no question for you If everyone in the country drove at or under the speed limit at all times, would there be a reduction in road deaths? I reckon the answer would be yes Whether it is one, or more probably hundreds, if not thousands, they are lives that would be saved

I think the LOGIC behind having the speed limit at all times is that if say they weren't enforced between 10pm. and 7am., you'd get loads of these whiney threads about people being nicked at 10.03pm., and how 'unfair' it is

I got rid of my car recently, and the attitudes shown on this thread are some of the reasons why. I really don't want to be on the road when other drivers are doing the mental working out of how, and by how much, they can break the traffic laws, instead of how they can stay within them, and show...

The thing is, you are more likely to kill/maim someone at the obviously revered 'cut off' point of 46mph., rather than the stipulated 40mph.

What I like about these threads is they become 'My knob is bigger than your knob' competitions, perpetuated by, you've guessed it, knobs :smile:

Or you could drive at <40mph. and lessen the chance of maiming or killing someone working on the road :wink:
