It is what is in the franchise agreement, a minimum service level is laid down. So if the DFT said run a full service on Boxing Day they would , the same they have said run a Saturday service on Bank Holidays instead of a Sunday service
A wallet the size of Germany !!! If they paid then it could be done, a shuttle service running from Bton - Lewes - Bton would not be a problem as long as there was no works scheduled by Network Rail
Was looking at the train plans for Boxing Day and the only service running is the usual hourly service between Brighton and Victoria, nothing will be running to Falmer
But there is no safety reason to factor in, it is just an inconvienence factor in that there will be no trains and a limited bus service to get people there. If the club actually announced now one way or another exactly what was going on and what are the exact arrangements for getting there then...
There haven't been trains apart from a skeleton service on the Brighton to London line (and that hasn't run every year) for over 40 years if not longer on Boxing Day and until recently the same with buses and this is the same for other clubs in other parts of the country in respect of their...
Don' talk out of your fanny about things you know nothing about, if Southern wished to run a service on Christmas Day let alone Boxing Day then staff are contractually obliged to work albeit for triple time. If the club came to an agreement to pay the costs for a railway service on Boxing Day...
Trouble is there was only 6/7000 trying to get to Withdean using the P & R's etc this year we are up to 26/27000 and that is a lot of people to be moving without trains and scheduled bus services let alone a reduced P & R. Has anyone actually emailed Paul Barber and asked him the exact situation...
Because they won't know the engineering requirements and service levels yet but the only trains from Brighton on Boxing Day will be to London and nothing to Falmer, already advertised on Brighton station on the football posters as no service running.
