I looked into going to Optimus Primavera in Porto but for two of us it was getting on for £600 and that was without accommodation. No mention of camping option on the website. Line up is pretty decent though.
As for the Great Escape Line Up- always has been about new music with the odd random...
Any excuse to open an old thread-
Got my tickets for Great Escape 2013 today! Just £38 which includes booking fee for three days/nights of live music. That's what I call value for money.
Well trust it was as loud then! The band after they played at Green Door- Amatorski worth a look. See you on 1st June- a mixed set I understand so plenty to look forward to.
Glad you enjoyed it too. I must have just missed you at The Naturals- we were fairly near the front. Noise was pretty immense, the guy behind me had ear plugs in- far too sensible. Managed to get tickets for K6 whilst in town Saturday. Looks like Keith Allen will be attending!! Hope its as good...
Absolutley- no one seems to be moaning about not seeing a particular artist- I guess that is due partly to the range and number of bands playing- so always an alternative- but I too was much better prepared and in most cases had somewhere else to go if I became stuck. I hope business wise it...
Feel at a bit of a loss today but my body is thanking me. I would say it was the best Great Escape that there has been. Saw plenty of bands that I did not know until now and thanks to this thread thoroughly enjoyed Amatorski at Green Door Store yesterday and Savages at Corn Exchange Thursday-...
'one kooky hot chick'- well I trust your wife is not reading this thread?
Have had to work during the day Thursday and Friday so going for it today. Aiming to get ten plus bands in between twelve and twelve. Avoiding The Corn Exchange- whoever is on as the sound in there has been aweful. Hope to...
Bound to see you Thursday then at some point as have a very similar plan. So many people I know planning to see Abi Wade that already resigned to something else then. Not thought yet about Friday and Saturday but will be doing my very best to see Ema
Getting really excited now and keep changing my plans which is never good.
Going to add The Killgirls to Thursday night if I cant see Pond. Have been listening to New Build and lots of their stuff on you tube. Really enjoying it.
Horatios seems to be hosting the best stuff as well as Pavillion
Good that some bands seem to be playing twice if not three times. And on separate days.
Django Django on the Friday night as well as Thursday which may change my original plan. Especially if the Pavillion is full (Seems that all the venues in that area fill quickly). Dont know much about New...
With a week to go I thought it would be interesting to know what other festival goers have planned for the first evening.
Unfortunately I have work on the Thursday so wont be able to see much before 7. I hope to start the evening off with some Abi Wade at the Unitarain Church and then Tripple...
I think Pond are playing at The Dome. Does anyone know if this means you have to get one of those extra wristband things? Or is that just for the Big Three acts?
I think this year the line up is one of the strongest and some of the better known bands seem to be playing during the day which is a plus. I have been listening to The Killgirls on mysapce. I know little of their stuff but hope to see them.
The following have just been added to the line up
TRIBES, REN HARVIEU, FILTHY BOY, POND, CHRIS T-T, THE MILK, WILLIS EARL BEAL, DAN LE SAC, ZEBRA AND SNAKE, WE HAVE BAND, THOMAS J SPEIGHT, JAKE MATTISON, EUGENE MCGUINNESS, DONOVAN WOODS, DJ LEO ZERO, GORGEOUS GEORGE, THE BOTS, SAM SURE AND...
