Chainrai is in a dilemma , put in another £6M to keep Pompey going another season and gamble on promotion which is unlikely as a new squad will have to be assembled or write off his £18M investment as a schoolboy error.
No prospective buyer would be interested in a League 1 club starting the season on minus 30 as they would need a squad capable of promotion just to escape relegation to League 2. Would the Conference be prepared to accept a reformed team at this level ?
I find it hilarious that the previous administrator managed to arrange £2.2M of the parachute payments would be paid to Gaydamak as the sweetener to get him to accept the CVA. Looks like one of the secured creditors has got all the dosh and the rest won't see their expected share from the £2.2M...
Another loan in from WBA , despite a transfer embargo they are allowed to bring in loanees to ensure they have 14 fit players , one player went out on a loan to buy deal to Birmingham City this morning and this afternoon they bring in Allan from WBA
Trevor Birch was at a Pompey fans forum last night , saying being brutally honest the club only had enough funding for the next 6 weeks and allegedly intimated Androniku definitely used sleight of hand & appeared to look after Chainrai rather than do his job.
This wasn't the impression given by the previous administrator , signing 2 players on £20k a week each and who failed to be appointed this time around after objections from HMRC and others.
If the administrator is doing his job then his first priority is to reduce the wages bill by making any players earning over £5k a week available as loans and get agreements on wage deferrals. Any players sent out on loan will be replaced by academy players.
You can have 5 subs on the bench but its not mandatory , in theory the team-sheet could be handed in with just 11 players as the starting line up and no subs.
Portsmouth City Council have intimated that any restrictive covenants in place would be lifted to allow retail development on the site after the club has been wound up.
Having just 3 on the bench will make the FL feel sorry for them and allow Pompey to sign a couple of loanees whose wages will be paid by their own club.
