But I don't think Gus was overly arsed about keeping Murray and indicated this to the board, hence why we probably offered what we thought he was worth. Who knows, he could be brilliant in the Championship, but I am pretty sure Gus will already have had this covered and in his plans.
Its rare a manager is involved in wages etc, he tells the chairman if he wants a player, but the chairman does all the negotiating.
TB might have asked Gus if he rates him enough to be top earner etc etc, but other than yes/no it is unlikely Gus is involved at all
