Point taken and my apologies. I am not on either side in fact because it's such an insoluble problem. I think the fact that this decision was made by a Tory government it has added that in the mess. I wonder what would have been the reaction if the changes had been brought in by a Labour...
Whaaaattttt ? Haven't you heard that the country has a rather large debt ? How do you suggest we sort that out ? The students have an issue but so do plenty of others, they are entitled to protest but not get violent. Who exactly are 'Merchants of Hate' ? Some people have strong opinions but if...
I think perhaps that there should be an NUU, a National Union of the Underprivileged. They can all get together and march on London in protest at the fact they are Underprivileged. Probably be a bigger gathering (as long as they could afford the fares into London) but I fear they would also do a...
It's fairly predictable that a Tory (I don't count the Lib Dem contribution) would pick softer targets but what must be remembered is that the drastic mess this country is in needs drastic measures.
If you follow the thread through it relates to my (and others I'm sure) belief that the majority of the trouble makers were not even students but anarchists and how to actually tackle the problems they create. If the wanted to damage two causes then they succeeded didn't they ?
That Student...
The problem is (if you consider it to be one) is that a lot of people fear having their privacy and therefore their basic human rights infringed on. There's an argument for both views.
To be fair to Aaron Porter he said that straight away, most students I'm sure agree with him. Personally I just think it was high jacked by the usual 'Rentamob' faction who have no interest in the actual cause in the first place. Sadly they won and everybody else lost.
How do you stop these...
Does seem that the majority of people on here have little or no sympathy for the students, a lot of which has to do with what happened yesterday. The irony is that I have little doubt that the majority of the troublemakers were not even students, they're anarchists who don't give a toss as to...
You're very naive if you think that only certain groups will be hit. This country is in deep financial shit and we will all end up paying. However the Tories will not be too concerned if the less wealthy suffer more.
That is beause you have a democraticly elected Tory party in power. Is a simple fact of life that they will ty not to hurt the rich, I know I will lose out too but I am just being practical, I do't much care for it but Like the fact that this country has so much debt even more,
Bet it's the NHS...
The bottom line is that the country is heavily in debt and everybody will have to tighten their proverbial belts but these 'students' don't seem to understand this poor little darlings.
Forgiven, the pity of it all is that it was carried out by a small minority who have ruined the credibility of all students. All t will do it make the Tories even more highly entrenched not to mention that thanks to today this handful of scum have just taken more money out of the Exchecher. I...
Because we have a Tory government for a start. On that note the assaults and damage will have a very negative affect as the Tories will dig in, ask the miners (if you can find one now). You see if a bunch of chavs walk into town and smash the place up they're a bunch of nasty little bastards who...
I agree with you but the problem is the number of degrees on fer which are not likely to get you employment. One of my nephews has a degree in Sports Management admittedly it's only a third because he's not that bright. The person who got him that job was his best mate at school, He left school...
