The reason that there are a lack of callers is that the show has almost hit rock bottom. Where have all the old brigade gone? Have Lord and Lady B had to sell their phones along with the family silver? Let's all phone in again liven the show up and see what happens
It is always labeled as THE FANS PHONE IN so may be The BBC should ask the fans what they want, who should host the show, the format of the show and why hardly anyone bothers to call. Mike, John and Richard are all decent folk but lack the cutting edge but may be this is down to their bosses...
start the phone in at 5.15pm until 6.30pm, before hand read the other results and non league round up plus reports on Lewes, Crawley and Eastbourne. This would give more people a chance to phone but firstly the presenters need to be changed.
I have nothing against Mike Ward, who is a decent fellow, or any of the other presenters but they are just not right for this show. Paul Miller would be an improvement but might be considered too much of a Football Hooligan.
One can't keep harking after the good old days but it must be time that the BBC scrapped the phone in. Boring presenters who sound like they would be more at home handing out cakes at the village fete, virtually no input from those who have attended the game, constant travel updates ect, have...
