Exactly. If you were swearing excessively, and a copper tells you to pipe down, he's is being perfectly reasonable. In fact he's doing his job. A 'wanker' could have arrested the offender on the spot, should he really have wanted to.

Why? Would it not have been easier to stop swearing?
