I don't think that's true at ALL. The abilities beyond the music, are EXACTLY what people buy it for. Not exactly the same product, I grant you, but my 9 year old got an i-pod touch for xmas, and he doesn't even like music. He ADORES the thing, and literally does not have ONE music track loaded...
