I didn't mean to suggest the quality of football was on a par with arsenal. I was merely highlighting that the idea of putting grinding out wins ahead of beautiful football wasn't a new idea, and wasn't something that won't lead to success, that it had worked for others.

So that's the only way it could work? You don't allow for the possibility that in conversation with the editor dick knight expressed how upset he was with some negative articles, that he intimated or flat out said the club wouldn't co-operate with the argus, wouldn't let them in at certain...

Naylor is writing an article absolving Micky Adams from any responsibility for the negativity at the club? No way!
I imagine if he could he'd put the blame on Wilkins...*
