    [Help] Jury Service.

70 is the magic number. I did Jury service once when I was about 45 and we acquitted a women of shoplifting. I think the Judge was so annoyed as it was obvious he didn't agree with us' that I'm sure our card was marked as I never got called again.

[Finance] Premium Bonds - prize pool increased again - you ever have any luck?

£125 this month which means I have won something for 38 out of the last 39 months. Lots of £25's of course.

    [Albion] Tariq Lamptey

Think he was offered one but didn't want to accept.

    [Sussex] Southern Water Price Increase

I beg to differ. How you can say quality of service has gone up when not a week goes by without some story surfacing of polution in the sea and rivers, water supply being cut off for days at a time in large areas, water shortages and restrictions nearly every summer. If quality has gone up in...

    [Sussex] Southern Water Price Increase

In the 60's I started work for Brighton Council who supplied water and sewage services from Shoreham through to Saltdean. I worked in the Shoreham branch issuing and collecting the monies for that area. Bills were sent each 6 months and ranged from about 75p to around £10 for a really big house...

[Misc] The Award-winning official "More Snow Tomorrow?" Thread [2024-25 Season]

Very strange. My wife drove home from Littlehampton to Mile Oak using mainly the A27. 18 miles and took 25 minutes. Worse part was the last 100 yards up our Close.

Sadly being almost 80, neither applied in my case. 😮‍💨

    [Misc] Prostate Cancer

If I can just add a note. For about the last 15 years or so I have had regular bi-annual PSA tests via the Lions and they have always been low, under 1, so considered fine. About 8 months ago I saw my GP because I was fed up getting up 3 or 4 times a night for a pee. He saw me, did the finger...

[Albion] Brighton & Hove Albion vs Crawley Town *** Official Match Thread ***

Some of us were saying pre kick off we should be playing our first team. Just imagine if we had, what sort of side would we be putting out against Arsenal!

[Finance] ******** The Scam Thread *********

Just as an aside, I think for once the scammers have actually made a loss trying to do me. About 8 weeks ago I noticed a charge of £49.99 appearing on my debit card and that the company was someone I vaguely remembered dealing with some time ago. Apparently they had set up a recurring monthly...

    [Albion] More Chris Wilder delusion...

3 inches higher and Mitoma would now be a woman. 2ft higher and it would be classified as a drop kick!

[Finance] Premium Bonds - prize pool increased again - you ever have any luck?

I've just checked and I've won the last 26 months out of 27. Most only about £25 or £50 and the best £375. Only £50 this month though.

[Football] Former league clubs you would like to see back in the league.

I don't think anyone has mentioned Gateshead. Getting Southport, Workington, Darlington and Hartlepool back as well and make the division 'proper' again.

    [Albion] Palace Fans Biggest Fear

Both I think but he was the Zaha equivalent.

    [Albion] Palace Fans Biggest Fear

When we were swanning around for years in the lower divisions we seemed to have a particular hate for Leyton Orient which went on for some years.

    [Other Sport] Snooker…. “Golden Ball”

I remember my local snooker club had a set of snooker+ balls although very rarely used. From my hazy memory I think the orange was placed mid way between brown and blue and the purple midway between blue and pink. When the tables were recovered every 2 or 3 years, spots were marked for these...

[Albion] Valentín Barco ** Loan To Strasbourg with obligation to buy 02/02/2025**

I'm sure someone will correct me but I was sure the loan window shuts the same time as the ordinary window, I.e. the end of January. As we don't expect him here till mid February, I don't see how we can loan him out, unless we arrange it now before he gets here!

    [Technology] Broadband provider

I'm with Sky Superfast fibre, (900/90), and that was put in by Openreach. Sky just provided the cable from the OTR to their router.

    [Technology] Broadband provider

I have Sky fibre in Mile Oak and a rock solid 850 down and 90 up. Never had a problem in nearly 10 years from the old analogue routers up until today apart from 3 days out when a workman put his pickaxe through the phone line.
