[Albion] Brighton & Hove Albion vs Manchester City *** Official Match Thread ***

He's been a good manager for the first season and a bit, but he's not the best we've ever had. Most managers come in to a club becuase the previous man has been sacked, which usually means the team needs an overhaul. RDZ came when the team was absolutely flying and all he had to do was keep...

We at least has some sort of excuse in the autumn with those 6 extra Europa games, and we did well in the Europa and ok in the PL considering. It's been beyond shit in every competition since Feb.

That's the worst thing: he really does have no Plan B. The gung ho tactics are the reason that the Europa League tie against Roma was over after the first game.

It's f*** all to do with being on the beach. We've looked dreadful since late Feb, at which point we were still in the Europa, FA Cup and in with a shout of European qualification.

Defenders are always scared of pace.

[Albion] Are you going to Man City?

Brentford have recently announced that they are doing this. Given our similarly methodical, data-based approach to performance, I wouldn't be surprised if we were doing one as well.

3/1 on 5 goals or more in the games seeemed like value to me.

If he was that fragile, then being a professional GK is the wrong job for him. All keepers must surely take a hammering at times in their careers, no?

I accept it’s subjective, but there’s a reason that Bart already has senior caps for Holland, despite only being 21. He’s by far superior keeper.

You’re right. A 2 goal defeat to City is probably about par for most PL teams. I however fear a hammering. I genuinely feel sorry for Steele and think he’s been treated unfairly by RDZ. Confidence must’ve been low following 0-3 at Fulham then that early mistake at Wolves costing us the game...

My already-mediocre positivity has shifted down a tad on seeing that we haven’t, in fact, given up on this rediculous GK rotation experiment.

I'm trying to be positive on the basis that they've played 210 minutes of full-on KO football over the last 8 days, all while we've had our feet up. However, I don't think this is nearly enought to offset the fact they are probably the best squad on the world, and we've been crap since late...

    [NSC] Plans for the summer?

It’s surprising how many people don’t realise this. Obviously, you don’t need a passport to go to NI, as it’s part of U.K., but seeing as there’s no border between north and south (for now) it wouldn’t be possible to control entry to the ROI from U.K. even if a passport was required.

    [NSC] Plans for the summer?

As a football fan, how can you not be keen on the Euros? Apart from the fact that England have a genuinely good team and could go deep into the tournament, there should be loads of really competitive high-class games. Something I particularly like about international football is that it's not...

    [Albion] Vincent Kompany

His team got 101 points in the Championship last season! I think the mistake he's made has been trying to play the same way in the Premier Leasue with a similarly talented group of players. Give him a squad of Premier League quality players, such as we have, and it might be a different story...

    [Albion] 2023-24 Loanee Tracker Thread

Surely everyone at the club has seen this season that GK rotation does no favours to anyone? I rated Bart over Steele, but either way I'd have prefered one or the other to have been the regualr keeper rather than swapping every 2 games.

Best to loan him to a PL side or a high-level Championship team, but definitely one where he plays every week. He’s clearly class, but last thing we want next season is more f***ing goalkeeper rotation!

    [Albion] 2024 Summer Transfer Window

Colwill probably available this summer with Chelsea needing to make home-grown sales to meet 23-24 FFP. Imagine the wages he’s getting there may be an issue though.

    [Football] FA Cup semi finals

Qualifying for Europe won’t help this season’s income. Besides, they had to sell a hotel to themselves to meet FFP for a season that they made the Champions League QFs in!

I’d give that as an OG against the floppy-haired ****. Keeper probably would’ve saved.
