Lost my dad last September to his skin cancer...
It was. The glass thrown hit my mate on the head causing large cuts.
it was. doors opened and 10 or so lads piled on. one threw a glass which hit my mate and caused numerous cuts. hell of a lot of blood. also had some of them with pointed umbrellas hitting people.
it was nasty and frightening. Doors opened and a glass was just thrown indiscriminately. Wrong place wrong time. If it had hit a child god knows what damage it would have caused.
group of ajax thugs came onto the carriage and threw a glass and started hitting people with sharpened umbrellas. no hint of trouble up to that point. the carriage we were on were singing and having a good time on the way to the ground at about 5pm. Dutch and English police were great. helped...
it was my mate who got attacked. It wasn't a broken bottle, it was a small glass that was thrown and hit him on the forehead, cutting him in numerous places. The police are aware of it
I lived on the corner of selby road/framfield road from 1971-1977 before moving to Bognor. Cant remember what school i went to in Uckfield
Going to have a look around as the house my dad and his brothers were born in is still there opposite the Alma.
Coming over to Uckfield next week for my Dads funeral at the Holy Cross Church in the town that was his home with his 4 brothers for the first 30 years or so.
He took me to my first Albion match in the late 70's and i've never lost the love for my team. We use to visit my nan in Framfield Road...
