To be fair last season we were stuck in a rut and sinking when the season was suspended - the enforced break allowed us to regroup and scramble enough points to stay up. A decent outcome in the end but who knows what would have happened if the suspension hadn't happened.
After nearly 2...
Some nice football again, but unfortunately further evidence of the lack of mental strength in our side as well as poor game management. For all the plaudits it does sadly appear that GP is not a winner.
He's got to go (but it won't happen). Massively out of his depth at this level, unable to change the flow of games, non stop changing of personnel, inability to do the basics at set plays, and overall poor game management. Probably more suited to an academy type role (where results are less...
Strange comparison (a joke I assume). Burn was signed as a squad player and has put in a decent shift during his time with Albion. A very wholehearted performer who has been played out of position by GP. The kind of tactic that might have worked for GP in the Scandinavian lower leagues but a...
Out, and the decision needs to be made now before it is too late. Momentum is a big thing and we are in rut and it's hard to see where the next win comes from. Unfortunately the team looks soft and lacks leaders, set pieces an issue at both ends, and overall game management/decision making is...
Predictable response from most on here and it's clearly not going to happen, but Howe kept Bournemouth up comfortably for the first 4 seasons and clearly knows how to get promoted from the Championship. Yes he got relegated last season but every manager has a shelf life in any role, and that was...
GP does seem pretty much bullet proof but there have to be questions asked. Our record in 2020 is dreadful, and he does not appear to know how to win tight matches. The football might be nice but without the basics (set pieces) and decent game management and decision making that won't get us...
Unfortunately GP is not a results manager. A talented coach but not great with the basics and game management. Hard to see us winning more than 6 or 7 games this season.

I'm not sure. The Championship is a slog and to get promoted you need to grind out the ugly wins. I'm not sure that's in GP's make up. Swansea finished 10th under him and their positions have improved since....

Sorry was paraphrasing the masses. It does look increasingly like GP is not the man to get the wins required. Our record this calendar year is shocking, as is our home record against the bottom sides. GP may have nice ideas but it needs to be married with better game management and more...
Nothing to worry about, must win games only take effect from mid-April. We'll soon be turning performances into points.....

Unable to beat desperately ordinary opposition for the second home game in a row. For all the nice football and progressive ideas, does GP know how to win matches?

Good to see GP send out the message the Ryan is not un-droppable. Have felt that he has been distinctly ordinary over the last couple of seasons and it's hard to recall many point winning performances/saves over that time (other than his save at Southampton).

The usual state of denial from some whenever a rival picks up someone who we'd realistically love to sign - see Callum Wilson etc

Ollie Watkins repaying a decent chunk of his transfer fee already. His transfer got the standard 'not bothered' response but he looks a good buy. Villa's recruitment looks decent second time round - shame they stayed up rather than Watford.

Definite lack of leaders as well as physical strength/know how in this squad. This is illustrated by the number of times we've been unable to shut up shop and see things through to HT/FT after scoring. The loss of Stephens and Duffy exacerbated this. For all the plaudits GP receives for good...
Pathetic. For all the nice football we must be the softest, most naive team in the league. Another goal conceded within minutes of us scoring. Very poor game management and GP must take the blame for some of that. And another example of why an upgrade is required in goal.
