Geographically, Sunderland in 2004. But stayed the night in Yorkshire so didn’t seem too bad.
But Hull in 2005 sticks in my memory as the longest away day ever. Seemed to take an absolute eternity to get home by minibus.
I wouldn’t describe myself as a fan particularly, but I watched them at the White Rock in Hastings 10 or so years ago. I’ve never been to such a lively gig. The place was absolutely rocking, not a single person sat down, dancing up and down the aisles and in front of the stage. And the party...
Fair enough 😁
In my case he’s always taken an interest in the Albion since I’ve known him. I finally took him to a game at the Amex against Newcastle a couple of seasons ago just before Potter left. One of the hottest days I can ever remember going to a game.
I remember that re. their fans in Block J. Coincidentally earlier this evening I was talking to my Father in law (Sunderland fan from Sunderland) about this game and the absolutely hammered Sunderland fan that kept saying “go on the lads” till he was ejected. Went to the return at SOL that...
Me too. I didn’t think Hastings were terrible. Had some good chances and went close with that free kick second half that needed a good save. Just can’t see them winning a game though at the moment. Like you I can’t see them staying up.
My main memories of that evening are being saturated in the South stand, completely miserable one minute to being on the pitch chasing a frantic Mcghee the next! Don’t remember much in between 🤣
The Wigan home game.
Swindon play off game. Completely soaked! Ran past Mark Mcghee who was screaming “Get off the f*cking pitch!”
Ipswich home game securing safety from relegation. Ran towards Des Lynam and exchanged a few words (can’t remember what but he was very well spoken. And much...
Just watched it. I was sure we won 2-1 and were 1-0 down
Just watched it. I was sure we went 1-0 down and the free kick was late on? Memory playing tricks.
That was a superb away day. We were f*cking brilliant too. I remember saying to my dad at 1-0 down that it would be a crime if we lost that game, we were so much better than them. Then the two Buckley goals (?) one a free kick.
And when she’s s*agging Beckham, she thinks of Gary Hart!
Still love that one, was giving a rendition to a mate last week coincidentally.
Same with the Kuipers one recently when Yellow Submarine was sung at my daughters singing club!
Also liked “ooh it’s a corner”.
