Paul Hayward has written an article in today's 'Telegraph' looking at the context of Chris Hughton's sacking.
According to him, sources close to the coaching staff claim that Lewis Dunk, Shane Duffy and Glenn Murray will be sorry to see Chris go. However other players have 'pursued personal...
Well consensus seems to be that the refs have been fine so far, with Oliver, Probert, Scott, Kavanagh and even Pawson all having good games.
Ref for Newcastle is Andre Marriner. No bad memories of him, so hopefully another controversy-free game.
Roger East:glare:
Most of us focussed on Mike Dean's decision at Boro in May...but East missed the push on Lewis Dunk before Wednesday's equaliser at the Amex. Should have been a routine easy spot too.
Anyway we live in hope for Saturday.
Roger East.
Another PL ref...of course.
No comment this time as I mistakenly thought Dean would be a good appointment when announced. Instead turned into Challis Mark 2.
Is Gavin Ward. If that doesn't ring any bells then do you remember the ref who's 31 but looks like a 13-year-old boy (or maybe girl)? That's him.
Fingers crossed, because he was awful the last couple of times he's been at Withdean. Still if D'Urso can have an OK game-I didn't see it but that's...
Unwanted ones though. What does everyone think?
1. Fastest ever booking by an Albion player. Graeme Smith on Tuesday. Only a few seconds after he came on. Got to be the quickest hasn't it?...unless anyone knows better.
2. Fastest sending-off. The great Colin Hawkins yesterday. More debatable...
Hiya,
Do the club plan to request a home game on the first day of next season (August 8th)? We've been away on the first matchday for the last 9 seasons now...surely no other club has the same pattern.
Gay Pride is scheduled for August 1st so there should be no policing issues with us being at...
Is that great man of Pompey...Rob Styles:rant:
Just thought I'd cheer everyone up a bit more!
Btw the linesman gave the red card decsion last night. D'urso didn't know what happened-you could see that clearly on the TV.
Albion v Shrewsbury, Fenruary 1st 1969. Shaped up a a routine mid-table fixture...but in the event a few things made the game stand out. Anyone remember?
*How far out was Nobby Lawton when he scored the first? Bonus point for describing the goal as you remember it.
*Who was the Shrewsbury...
Why doesn't our club do what most others do and advertise the manager's position and then see who applies? Wasn't the last time we did this in 2003?
If that's right, both Dean Wilkins and Micky Adams were invited to take over without the job being opened up to other applicants.
Anyone else...
Anyone want to play? Rules are 5 points for each. If you hire a hitman you'll be given a red card btw.
Here's five to start. Nothing too controversial and the choices aren't bad taste ones...although the whole game is of course. Three chosen on age grounds and special circumstances apply...
Unfortunately this clown is listed as ref for Saturday's game:nono:
Oh well, he might have his first good game in twelve seasons.
Failing that at least he'll get the crowd going and help to crank up the atmosphere!!
