If anyone is looking, seetickets have put up a few tickets for tonight’s sold out MJ Lenderman gig at Chalk. I’m looking forward to it, despite middling feedback I’ve heard from people regarding him as a live performer.
This threads given me many tips over the years and so here’s a bit of payback….Wet Leg have quickly announced they are doing a Resident Records Outstore at Chalk in July. Tickets on sale at 10 this morning via Dice app. £19.
I find it staggering the numbers I’ve heard people are paying to relive those experiences this summer. Oasis were already rubbish live by the time I saw them in the late 90’s. Goodness knows what they’ll be like nearly 30 years later.
Yeah the only London venues Fontaines have played on this tour are Alexandra Palace and Finsbury Park, both of which I dislike. I particularly remember an Oasis gig in 2002 being awful at Finsbury Park.
Love Berlin and so no hardship to spend a few days in the city.
Thanks - super helpful info. Didn’t realise how far from the centre it was. Even 10k cap will be about the best I could hope for at this point with the band.
Now just got to sort cheap accommodation for the 6 of us in the city centre….
@Herr Tubthumper I’ve booked to see Fontaines DC at the Spandau Citadel in August. Hoping you can provide some local expertise. Is it any good as a venue? Rough capacity? Can I walk it from Potsdamer Platz? I have realistic expectations but am hoping it will provide a better experience than...
Felt a post TGE low this week but had to remind myself of what I’ve got coming up. Like above MJ Lenderman at Chalk, later in the summer Victorious Festival and Psych Fest Brighton. Then Blondshell, Haim, BCNR, Mutations Festival and The Orchestra (For Now) all in the autumn.
I have a gap in...
TGE was a good diversion from the football yesterday….
Dog Race by far the best thing I saw yesterday. Had a 5 min chat with the lead singer of Westside Cowboy after (they were in the audience for Dog Race). Lovely guy. Really appreciative of the reactions all week.
Saw a ton but highlights were Cliffords, English Teacher and Welly.
Having seen them 3 years ago at TGE, the difference in age of English Teacher really surprised me. I remembered them as shy uni kids but they definitely didn’t look/act like that now. Like Pogue Mahone I’ve not had a great...
Westside Cowboy were absolutely magnificent at the Hope and Ruin last night. I must avoid the temptation to follow them around the rest of the festival rather than seeing other new bands….
Tonight it’s like a battle of the bands with them playing straight before Man/Woman/Chainsaw at the...
My first choice for Weds pretty much just to see Westside Cowboy. I love their new single ‘Shells’. Haven’t seen them live before so really looking forward it.
About 90% tickets sold for main floor standing and seats. However upper standing not put on sale from what I saw. So prob about 2.5k of tickets sold in a 3.3k cap venue. Not bad imo.
Yes Westside Cowboy and Dog Race both on my list too. I think we both saw Dog Race at Mutations Festival.
If...
Great early spot - I saw them at Mutations last year after your recommendation and they were decent but their new single ‘When’ from Speedy Wunderground is absolutely superb! Very reminiscent of The Walkmen (which is a good thing imo).
Obviously Forest have a much bigger away allocation than normal - 4.5k. Looking at the map, does anyone know if there are any sections being held back? Looks like a corner of the East Stand not on sale at the moment?
