The Artist formerly known as Banksy arrested

A new "Banksy" appeared over the weekend near the harbour here in the centre of Bristol, as reported by local news (they just love a Banksy story). He might well be at the Nova Scotia for a drink this evening, as he's back in town, and then onto the Gate for the game tonight.

    Bristol City

We've given goals away this season "pissing" about trying to play the ball around a bit too much. But also scored a couple of fine goals moving the ball on the deck from back to front. Much to the surprise of many up here who expected hoofball. There has been a mix of both really. I have thought...

    Bristol City

Largely agree with you, although, if he is successful here this season, he is pretty much guaranteed at least one more shot at the Championship! Now, when you say no chance he will be poached "upwards" did you ever think Russel Slade would be a championship manager? It really is a "funny old...

    Bristol City

Sentiments that a large majority up here shared when he was appointed last season. Many, many unhappy people back then. And yet, he got us out of the mire and saved our skin. And has us hitting-the-ground-running this season. Up til now. All in L1, of course, and it is only October. Plenty of...

    Bristol City

Not to be taken seriously at all! Well, I say that, but....no, we just don't want anyone else coming in and nabbing our better players and upsetting the, er, applecart. So to speak. Not yet, at least. If we do well, inevitably Championship big guns are going to come shopping again Go and...

    Bristol City

Well, we tried to put you off, saying we didn't need the money, hanging on til the end. Pointing out one or two of Sammy's foibles to BHA types visiting our forum. But you insisted. You wouldn't leave it. Try L1 again in January. Top scorer is Doyle at Chesterfield (15 already!) and two at our...

Has anyone been to a game today?

Bristol City 3 Chesterfield 2. Despite selling our top scorer in August (!) we are currently experiencing few difficulties in breaching L1 defences.

    Doing The 92.

Cheers. If that was the Brighton game, I was there too. Yes, a long time ago

    Doing The 92.

Top info on the mighty non-league Brittle Roverrzz there. Well, until the last point. Their new ground (how many grounds does a non-league club need?) is not being built, as we speak. Sainsburys are trying to pull out of a deal to buy the Memorial Ground and the Roverrzz are in a spin and crying...

    Doing The 92.

Thank you for that! Despite your vote of no-confidence (!), I will probably give the Amex a try, next time we meet

    Doing The 92.

Aldershot is one of my 70 odd grounds. Did another new one, Fleetwood the other week. Just waiting for PL football in Bristol and I can complete the lot (will be more than 92. Will be a long wait, too....) Have done the Goldstone already, is it worth doing the Amex as well?

    Baldock

Dunno about the cow's arse, but he did hit the bull's eye 26 times last season. "League One" you might say. Well, the cow's arses are the same dimensions in that Championshi of yours, as indeed are the shovels. Create him some opportunities, and then we'll all be able to see for ourselves. Two...

Always hard to judge the "tone" on these things! I do think you have over-estimated our appeal somewhat, our biggest gate in our 4 year stay in Div 1, 76-80, was 38,000 v Liverpool, 1977. Average was more like 25,000, much like BHA now!

    [Brighton] Baldock

I detect a whiff of sarcasm in your post (?) there, old boy, and the word "potential" is one that no longer gets banded around really anymore. It was something we comforted ourselves with in the mid 80s after our record slump from 1st Div to 4th. The only way we will get crowds like yours...

I remember. Really enjoyed going to the Goldstone ground, well, the time we won there (91) mostly, not so much the time before when we lost (when Mike Gatting's brother was playing for you? Is that right?) I also recall BHA getting 30,000 in the 70s when you went up to the 1st. And bringing a v...
