Much to my late Dad's dismay the DIY gene bypassed me. He was a construction manager but worked up from an apprentice carpenter in the 1950's, and could turn his hand at DIY, painting and decorating and gardening in an expert manner. I am utterly hopeless!
A terrible day, that thankfully should never be repeated due to the changes it instigated. The city has always treated this with a stoic dignity and respect that is often overshadowed by more media 'interest' events.

Watched it last night. An uncomfortable watch, but these days a story that should be retold over and over. The opening graphics of news articles highlighting antisemitism and Holocaust denial was treuly worrying :cry:

I lost my Dad 18 months ago, and my mum 5 months before that. I was looking at some pics of them today, and realised I miss them more now than I ever did.

Think yourself lucky, ours is rising 9.9% in Bradford district, and still they continue to shut refuse tips and reduce services considerably. Seems the Government has just had to bail them out a bit too. There needs to be serious look at wasteful spending though, the Bradford Live music venue...
