Albion Vs Sheff Wed 1983 Semi-Final

Thanks for posting this - a great day and IMO much better than the day out in Cardiff. Lots of memories from the cup run but one of the best concerned Neil Smillie at a league match between us winning the semi and going to the final. Play had stopped for an injury or something - Smillie was...

How I would LOVE England to line up tonight

Re: Re: Re: Re: How I would LOVE England to line up tonight Well how stupid of me. I thought that the comments of a guy who played the game for 20 years and over 500 games, had represented England in the World Cup, who missed out on being in the 1966 England squad only through injury and...

How I would LOVE England to line up tonight

Re: Re: How I would LOVE England to line up tonight Interestingly enough Gerrard at right back was the formation Jimmy Armfield was suggesting on Radio 5 live last night, his argument was that against a team like T and T it gave us much more attacking options. Not sure I agree but the...

    Deal or no deal afficienado's

Is it really a no brainer? I not sure I would risk £27,250 on a 50-50 chance even if the rewards were 2:1 . Have you ever bet that much in a single gamble ....no thought not.

Most Unfair sacking of a Brighton Manger since 1982

I particularly remember the 2-0 win over Liverpool in the FA cup at the Goldstone under Cattlin. I can still see the goals going in I even have a very grainy VHS tape with a copy of that match as it was on TV (rare for those days) 29/1/84 Sun. FAC R4 (h) W 2-0 0-0 G.Ryan, T.Connor 19,057

Most Unfair sacking of a Brighton Manger since 1982

Agree with the concensus here - Chris Catlin. I can still remember hearing the news on the car radio and not understanding what the hell the club were doing.:nono:

    Subacromial injection of steroid!!!

I had exactly what you had a couple of years ago. The shoulder ended up hurting like hell plus it kept seizing up so I felt I really had to get something done. The injections are okay they stopped the pain and problem short term (about 3-6 months each time) for me but didn’t last too long...

    Jp

You might if you were that persons boss, you (allegedly) used company time, money and resources to entertain that person and you lied about it and it turned out that you had (allegedly)done the same thing previously with other women.

    Jp

Why not? Is the new minister bound by JP's decision? Surely as the first post said it cant be good news, at least in terms of time if nothing else

    Bye Bye

What implication does Prescott losing his department have on the Falmer saga? Sorry if it has already been asked.

[Albion] McGhee 99% likely to leave by end of week!

Agreed, but I didnt say Falmer guaranteed success, just that there wasnt an alternative.

[Albion] McGhee 99% likely to leave by end of week!

I dont believe this for a minute. Sure with all the problems this club has had over the past few years it will take time to build up crowds when we have the capacity, but the fact that there is demand really cant be argued with. Look at Reading, in a short time scale they have gone from Elm...

Thigs in Brighton that are no longer there/changed names

Hungry Years was when it opened called "The Hungry Years Gathering Place" and was opposite the aquarium. Loved the pictures of the Southdown buses , the 12A was my main mode of transport from Peacehaven to Brighton, and many times I remember tearing down to Poole valley to get the last bus...

Jumper at Norwood Junction last night

I think we can probably assume this individual was desperate, you'd have to be to do this. I'm really at a loss to see why so many are so vociferous because they were delayed (and yes I do have experience of commuting and have been held up by this in the past). When it has happened to me a...

    Palace v Brighton Memories

They almost certainly did know, FFS anyone could see the angle Ryans leg was hanging at and the bone came through his sock!!! To be fair I remember even the Palace players calling to the physio to get on and trying to get the game stopped. Just the lame brain Palace supporters cheered.

The "I've seen us beat Spurs thread"

The 83 game I think saw us win with 2 late goals after playing c**p all game. I was in the old chicken run and walked past the Spurs fans in the North East terrace. They were in a complete frenzy of anger at the result ... ahhh memories. :clap2: :clap2: :clap2:

    Zamora heads to Palace

I heard a rumour that he would go there (smellhurst) in the transfer window for ?1.5m. The Mail story claims it will happen in the transfer window and its a straight swap , no fee involved . Also claims BZ on £10000 a week so Pardew happy for him to go in exchange for Powell.

I dont know why everyone is so anti the Mail here .....I find the Daily Mail a fair balanced and thoughtful read full of good sensible ideas. :D :D :D Oh shite what have I just said
