As a Sussex student circa ‘99 I definitely remember going downstairs to those bathrooms. The station was under rehabilitation then, so coming back a few years later and seeing the shed roof in all its glory was spectacular. I just looked up the Bystander cafe and I’m thrilled to see it seems to...
Haha, I’ll take it. My dumb visual metaphor was the seagull-as-soul flying free from the cage the big clubs would keep them in. Perhaps it needs to simmer a bit longer. Back to Photoshop…
Attended. Philly turned out. It was certainly a Chelsea “home” match but there were hundreds of Brighton supporters there which feels surreal to see here stateside. Enjoyed the fight back with 10 men. New away kit brings back good memories but it’s also a little jarring to see it paired with...
This is too late to help, but for future reference check out the Phoenix Landing just across the river in Cambridge. Central Square on the red line. Great footie pub.
Yank here, been following since '99 and my days at Sussex Uni. This is simply incredible. Not just the success, but the style. It's just unfathomable that the Withdean and League 2 were really not all that long ago. Not sure how this ends, but the ride is something special.
Albion supporter checking in from Philadelphia to say… oh my lord. Should have been 6. What a moment. Would have given anything to have been in the Amex today.
Hey guys. American Philly resident (and diehard BHAFC supporter) checking in. I lurk but don't post, really, ever... but I just want to weigh in here. This is as emotional as I've been since... well, ever. Lots to do but I hope we're rejoining the world community. Promotion a few years after...
What's described as "sheer nonsense" here is my exact position. The honey monster stuff is why I'm a fan. I would give up points and results to retain it. Otherwise why not just review a spreadsheet at the end of the season.
A bit outside Philadelphia. Listened to the match as I cleaned my empty home, just purchased but not yet moved into. No furniture, just a stream of BBC Five Live, a broom and a bottle of champagne.
I'm a lot like TexasGull - an American who got hooked in '99 while studying at Sussex U. (Ironically the club wasn't there then, and now they're next door, but I digress...) I've followed from afar (Boston and now Philly) ever since, sweating out League 1 final weekends and Championship playoff...
At the risk of sounding self-promotional, I run small soccer-inspired t-shirt company. Mostly national team-inspired designs (I'm a Yank so plenty of US stuff). But I'm an Albion supporter too, and put this together a while back.
