Only just found this thread. Terry was also chairman at Southwick fc in the eighties. They were a force to be reckoned with in the Isthmian league in those days .
Remember him at the club and on the away coaches with a pile of bets to settle and he usually took our money playing spoof. Good...
Yes i went and it was very entertaining. Lee Robinson was the standout player , he could have played at a much higher level but was happy to stay with the Dockers. Unfortunately i can't get to the replay

There are more using the clubhouse than watching the game. The clubhouse is very well used by locals. The final results might be on but it's the horse racing they're there for.

Went there on a Sunday lunchtime a few weeks ago and it was fine. It was my local in seventies and early eighties and i played for the dart team. As people have said it was the upmarket pub in the area before the Wilmington was tarted up and before the Snipe closed.Shame there aren't more...
There was a wine bar on the right hand side going down Preston Street mid to late seventies. A small but nice place and there was always a barrel of Pompey Royal on the bar. I do remember its name but does anyone else ?
I worked in London for a couple of years in the eighties. and the strikes then were all out. Apart from today there has been a service on most of the network on the day of the guards disputes..
IN the seventies and eighties there were regular strikes by guards and drivers probably at some stage every year. Everyone coped .
This is only the second drivers strike on Southern in the last 23 years or so and yet people are having breakdowns and tantrums.

OBS staff, per company instructions, have been told they must not do train dispatch duties on booked DOO services. However, many of the OBS staff will be agency and not trained to do it anyway.
