[Music] If you were a vocalist whose singing voice would you choose?

If you were to be a vocalist either in a band or as a solo artist whose voice would you like to be blessed with? And conversely whose voice would you prefer to not be saddled with? Please note this is not a best and worst singer thread. For instance there may be some technically very good...

[Albion] Given the choice, beat Chelsea in the FA Cup and lose to them in the league or vice versa?

On 8th Feb we play Chelsea in the FA Cup and then again in the league six days later. Given the choice, and you could only have one, would you rather beat Chelsea in the FA Cup and lose to them in the league, or lose to them in the Cup match and beat them in the league? I suppose the question...

    [News] RIP Joan Plowright

Apologies to @Mustafa II as he has probably never heard of her, but others may be interested to note the passing of Dame Joan Plowright, who as well as her many acting achievements was also a former Brighton resident when she lived with her husband, the distinguished actor Lord Laurence Olivier...

[Misc] How many f*****g cars do your next door neighbours have between them?

On one side we have a couple who have a total of 4 cars. I've no idea why as they could quite easily cope with just two and one of them the man barely uses and appears to have just for show. Without any apparent sense of self awareness he often comments how parking has become a problem in our...

[Music] Songs by Local Sussex Bands (1960s to 1990s)

Following on from the Bob Grover RIP thread and the level of nostalgia it generated for the local live music scene of the late 70s I thought I'd start this thread to post your vintage tracks by local Sussex bands who played live locally. To make it more inclusive of non old fogeys I've widened...

[Finance] The Perils of Auto Renewal

I always avoid auto renewal for my car insurance as the auto renewal price is always much higher than it would be if you were insuring as a new customer. Also one year I was inadvertently registered for auto renewal without my knowledge so when I renewed my insurance with another company after...

[Misc] What's your greatest personal sporting achievement or memory as a participant?

What's your greatest personal sporting achievement or memory as a participant (not a spectator)? This thread isn't aimed just at the "sporty" types, as every one of us has played sport in some capacity, whether we liked it or not and whether we excelled at it or not. And whatever our level of...

[Music] Knowledge you've acquired through songs or band names.

This thread is about things, events and people you first learned about through a song or a band name. Specifically things which you were previously unaware of. It's NOT a thread just about famous events and people which you already knew about. I'll start with the life imprisonment of the...

    [Other Sport] Maurice Flitcroft

I'd never heard of Maurice Flitcroft before but he was the Eddie the Eagle of golf. He was a crane operator from Barrow who despite his limited experience of the game entered the Open Golf Championship in 1976. He was so bad that he got barred from entering again but this didn't deter Maurice...

Jack Karlson, has died aged 82. Was immortalised during his 1991 arrest at a Chinese restaurant. Some of the lines he came out with during his arrest... [Help] Recommendation needed to fix door opening mechanism on VW Transporter

Can anyone recommend someone who can fix a door handle / opening mechanism on a VW Transporter in the Hove/Portslade/Brighton area? Ive been told it's cheaper to use a car body repairer than a mechanic. Is that the case? Ive taken the door panel off but the job is more complicated than i'd hoped.
