[Cricket] The village / amateur 2024 CRICKET thread...

A rare bit of village cricket here yesterday. There's a park not too far from me which has an artifical pitch. My partner and I went for a walk last night and there was a match on. We put a picnic blanket down, opened a couple of beers and watched for an hour or so. I tried my best to explain...

[Albion] 2024 Copa América - Julio Enciso, Jeremy Sarmiento and Tom McGill

You could easily separate them: One half of the draw: A1 vs B2 and C1 vs D2 the winners meet in the semi final Other half: A2 vs B1 and C2 vs D1 the winners meet in other the semi final I'm pretty sure that's how the Euros worked when it was 4 groups.

[Albion] 2024 Copa América - Julio Enciso, Jeremy Sarmiento and Tom McGill

A great match. Canada had so many chances to win it in normal time and deserved to win. No idea how they worked out the knockout draw though. Canada and Argentina were in the same group. It makes no sense they meet each other in the semi final.

[Politics] Liz Truss defending S.W. Norfolk seat July 4th.

No concession speech. Refusing to give interviews. No sign of an apology. What an awful human she is. Off you pop. Hopefully never to return.

[Politics] The NSC 'up all night' election night *** OFFICIAL MATCH THREAD ***

I picked up 6 beers from my favourite local brewery last night. I also just popped a bottle of rosé wine in the fridge. Keeping my options open for tonight.

[Cricket] Sussex CCC - 2024 edition

That's incredible. One short of a world record run chase, ended on the very last delivery of the match. Thanks goodness there's a 7 week break from this rubbish cricket, to concentrate on The Hundred. That's what everyone has been waiting for.

    [Other Sport] MLB 2024 Season

Not a great season for the Blue Jays so far. They had a promising start but then went on a terrible run and haven't really recovered from that. There has been the odd good performance and scoring runs doesn't seem to be too much of an issue, so there is some hope. Very much an outside bet to...

We still have Peter "massive hyperbole" Drury and Martin "and it's liiiive" Tyler on the Premier League coverage on Fubo. And Andy f***ing Townsend too.

[Travel] Niagara flying in and out of Toronto

You're probably best off staying in the downtown core, which is where most of the hotels are. From Bloor Street W. down to the water, keeping close to University Ave or Yonge St (where the subway lines are). If you want to be right on the lake, there's the Westin Harbour Castle.

[Travel] Niagara flying in and out of Toronto

A few things worth doing/seeing: CN Tower - this is obvious one for tourists but it is worth doing. The Toronto Islands - You can catch a ferry from the waterfront to The Islands, you pay for the ticket out and it's free to come back. It's a great place to walk around with beaches on the far...

[Football] Euro 2024 Round of 16 (France v Belgium, Portugal v Slovenia)

All the Portgual fans in my neighbourhood are driving around honking their horns. They scraped past Slovenia on penalties in the last 16; maybe just have a beer; you haven't won the Euros.

[Travel] Niagara flying in and out of Toronto

Echoing what other people have said, I wouldn't spend much time in the town of Niagara Falls. It's incredibly tacky, apart from the park right next to the falls. You can easily do it as a day trip from Toronto. There is a GO Train from Toronto to Niagara Falls which takes about 2 hours. Last...
