    [News] Nigel Farage and Reform

So, does that mean Irish immigrants need to convert to Protestantism? Surely not. And Brits are the absolute worst at integrating as immigrants - generally not even bothering to learn the language. If everyone coming to the UK has to conform to some sort of “model Britishness” we as a society...

[Politics] The NSC 'up all night' election night *** OFFICIAL MATCH THREAD ***

Jonathon Gullis out - great stuff (apols - just catching up) 😊

[Politics] The NSC 'up all night' election night *** OFFICIAL MATCH THREAD ***

The problem with SKS's seat is that it was GUARANTEED to be Labour - so I can imagine a decent %age of Labour supporters just didn't bother (my daughter did, though, so well done to her!)

[Politics] The NSC 'up all night' election night *** OFFICIAL MATCH THREAD ***

I think part of it is down to the way Labour have targeted their campaigning - much like the Lib Dems, albeit on a bigger scale. They realised there was no point putting loads of effort into seats where they already had a very healthy majority, or where they stood little or no chance. Plus...

[Politics] The NSC 'up all night' election night *** OFFICIAL MATCH THREAD ***

I absolutely believe that Labour *will* work their socks off. There’s a good team there. And, if you consider where Labour were just 4 years ago, it’s pretty amazing.

Yes - it seems there was an awful lot of caveating from Curtice on the Beeb

[NSC] Election night thread structure protocol

I'd go for the "all in one place" option - just like a match thread.

[Albion] Yankuba Minteh SINGS on 5 year contract

It's interesting that NUFC don't seem to be going the same way as Chelsea (ie, massive long contracts, selling hotels and parts of the training ground to themselves, etc). I may have missed a load of financial shenanigans, but assuming I haven't I'd much prefer to deal with Newcastle than Chelsea.

    [Politics] General Election 2024 - 4th July

Just to reassure you, I definitely do NOT have an account! Only looked because someone had flagged up the ads a few days ago, and I wanted to check if they were still running. Once you start looking though, it’s compulsive 😊

    [Albion] Pink training kit

Likewise - my cursor hovered over the "Add to basket" button before I realised how many BHAFC shirts/tops etc I already have....

    [Politics] General Election 2024 - 4th July

If you're really annoyed you could try this: https://www.swapmyvote.uk/ From their blurb: "Here’s how it works. You sign up with swapmyvote.co.uk and tell them 3 things: your preferred party, the party you’re willing to vote for as part of a swap, and the constituency you live in. You then...

    [Politics] General Election 2024 - 4th July

Just logged on the thesun.co.uk and dailymail.co.uk (much as it pains me)....great to see that Labour's ads are still festooning their front pages.

    [Albion] Fixtures - 24/25

There's a 5 week period (25th Feb to 1st April) where we only play TWO premier league matches. I think 1st March and 29th March are reserved for the FA Cup....so if we get knocked out in the 3rd or 4th rounds we'll have a lot of down-time in March!

[Politics] Tory meltdown finally arrived [was: incoming]...

Would be curtains for the likes of Truss, Rees-Mogg, Johny Mercer, Penny Mordaunt - although Sunk, Patel and Braverman would still be around.

[Politics] Tory meltdown finally arrived [was: incoming]...

That would be incredible....but I think a reasonable number of seats are pretty close, so could go a different way if the "undecideds" don't vote how the models predict. But fingers crossed they're right :)

[Politics] Tory meltdown finally arrived [was: incoming]...

I'd like to think that - if I were undecided - this ridiculous, unbelievably desperate idiocy would convince me to vote Labour.
