I sold him a Barbour jacket in Harrods a month before the Grand National in 1997, a surreal moment talking Albion things with him. Not miserable that day, just oozed charisma. But that was 'a while ago' admittedly! ;)
Ah, that d1ckhead! I remember well.
Plus the fact he ended up with I think one of Reinelt's boots afterwards, which I thought at the time was ridiculously unjust  :rave:
Anyway, back to the thread!
Part of me wants to say Hereford, just for the bundle at 1-1 and the sheer relief at the final whistle
But, but, but it was SO nerve-wracking. Chain smoked 4 fags aLone at half-time, I kid you not.
I think I'd like to go back to the same season and re-watch live Fans Utd vs Hartlepool or the...
one of my worse away days EVER that day. I vowed I'd never go to Selhurst again after that 5-0 sh1tshow and I've stayed true to my word.
up until the start of the game was great. what happened during and after the game was a joke
For those that didn't watch it, we were one of four clubs left......with Sheff Utd, Fulham (bogey team) and the Geordies. I know it's not at home but we got the 'best' of the three teams in my opinion. But just pants we're away AGAIN
Did paper rounds in Haywards Heath from 1986 - 1989. Seven days a week, in all weather (including battling through the aftermath of the 'Great Storm of 87' to find........no papers in the shop to deliver!!!)
Loved reading (still do) so loved getting there early and reading the papers, not just...
What's ironic is that his eldest son is a Man Utd fan!!!
And I know because he does Albion Soccer Camps in the holidays at Uckfield Leisure Centre astroturf (like my son does) and Marler comes to watch and pick up......and his kid wears a united top sometimes :(
Curious.....but why the dislike for Robbie Keane?!!
On a personal level, he ruined for me and 1000s of other Brighton fans around 2004 a perfectly good afternoon in North London when he scored a late winner for Spurs away in the FA Cup :(
In a previous life I worked for a year at Harrods (and had a very surreal 5 minutes of my life, selling Des Lynam a new Barbour jacket and talking all things Albion in 1998, a month before the Grand National!!!)
Would see Al Fayed walking around on a weekly basis with a very content/smug look...
Wages, wages, wages
England international, he'll want (easily) £100k plus a week - which the club don't do
I'll be amazed if he comes to us permanently, but happy if he does. Was a top player the season he was with Palace
Just got back......did it come across on the TV that our build-up play was rather slow and also we were trying to walk the ball into the net (a la Arsenal) to score the perfect goal?.....................so frustrating
I LOVED the experience!!
Expected to lose (the Zamora years notwithstanding) so anything gained was a positive
And never ceased to amaze me with the amount of supporters we would take (midweek) to far-flung northern outposts. Well in excess of 200!!
And no ticketing nonsense either ;)
