I don’t disagree with anything you’re saying. I think the problem with this whole thread, and many of the conversations on this very subject recently is that people assume a person can’t have multiple viewpoints and consider all factors.
I’m aware of everything you’ve said, but I’m also aware...
Why? Man City weren’t that dissimilar to us prior to their huge invest. Would anyone sit here and tell them to remember where they came from? Or that their investment of £100s of millions was planned to allow them to be sustainable in future years…?
Most successful businesses have regular progress meetings, and many assess quarterly. This quarter has been a lot less successful than the first quarter of the season.
As to your first point, I don’t make the decisions, so it doesn’t really matter what I think - I’m also not privy to what TBs...
No, I don’t think I am. There’s always that “remember where we were” mentality, but that’s the mentality that stops clubs and businesses progressing, and we are very much run as a business.
The reality is, we’ve invested incredible amounts since promotion and we’ve raised the bar getting into...
Isn’t part of the issue that we’ve not built a squad where we have a direct replacement for him, in terms of profile, and we also haven’t adapted tactically to not having him up front.
Mitoma, Georgino, Ayari and Dunk are underperforming their XG the most, in that order (I appreciate this isn’t a perfect stat).
Ferguson is overperforming his. Hilariously, the four players over performing more than him are Baleba, JP, Minteh and Lamptey, which will really annoy many posters on...
I think that’s where I differ from the others who aren’t a fan. I don’t really care much about his personality if a) the players seem on board with what he’s doing and b) I see a tactical plan that I can get behind.
He’s yet to convince me on either of these points.
Yeh… so 5 minutes plus stoppage time. Yet people seem to be expecting him to perform at the level he was at 2 years ago…
I’m defending Ferguson. Not attacking him.
