I said a couple of months in (it might even be here somewhere but I CBA to find it) that the team was in a false position of top four after getting off to a flyer and that normal service would be resumed soon enough. I think it's the expectation after a decent start that got people talking about...
It would've been great to have him around in a similar role to (from the looks of it) Milner this season, passing on his wealth of knowledge to the young guns who are looking to emulate his success. But that would mean that he would've been a) injured and b) deprived a move to his boyhood club...
You got it pretty close to reality in a lot of respects (early shout for Europe, get figured out and then settle on 8th). Even down the 'wallop a couple of the relative "minnows" of the league' coming to the fore on the last day of the season against the hapless Spuds :lolol:
Yeah, you should be fine. Worst comes to the worst, all it'll take is a short stop en route and rapid charge to give you the extra miles you need to get home, which probably won't be many. I've done that at Pease Pottage many times – working on the assumption that five or 10 minutes spent there...
Exactly. Hence the first line in my original comment. Unfortunately, speculation is rife in all walks of life, with no-one willing to either wait for the truth or just not jump to what might turn out to be ridiculous conclusions.
But then NSC would be a VERY quiet place without all of that...
We have, but there were several games this season while struggling for a spark of creativity or a mega ball into the box where I've turned to the Bobkin Jnrs and said I wished we had Pascal there.
Still the right move for him, though. I'm delighted he's had such an impact. What a guy
The end of that article makes it sound like he's going to be a Brighton player next season. To be honest, I don't get the resistance – if it's good enough for Fab, it's good enough for me.
I think I'm going to take the approach with Mitoma that I did with Groß at the end of last season: accept that he's going/gone.
And fair play to him. He deserves to play at the highest level on the biggest stage.
There was a guy in here who used to work with Chris (can't remember his username) who might be able to shed some light on that...
Edit: @NooBHA
