I doubt anyone is particularly interested, but hes now taken a few days off as his G/F arrives in Sydney tomorrow morning for a couple of weeks, and they're taking some time to go and explore properly, before the trip back up to Tamworth. Hes also met his mate Barney from Kent CC this evening...

I think thats what his "sightseeing" mainly consisted of...3 days of being on the beach and swimming after playing! The ground they were at was literally across the street from the sand and sea 😁 Cricket went well though but his team lost in the final. Randomly, one of his Sussex Academy...

Another 60 for the lad on Saturday. Off to Newcastle this week as hes been selected for the mens regional tournament down there, so has time to do a bit of sightseeing and spend some hours on the beach etc.

I wish. He spent 2 years at Mayfield (after being guided that way by Keith Greenfield), but they just weren't competitive enough, and one year before that at B&H, which was an absolute disaster. He played for Ditchling as a kid (along with his Sussex Pathway team mates), then at Lewes Priory in...

Yeah. A few of his mates play there, and he still wants to try and get a shot at a Sussex contract when he gets home, so he committed to them before he flew down to Oz.

They've had a few games rained off already this season as they dont use covers apparently! Its been pretty stormy over there the last few weeks, despite also having bush fires, so its a complete lottery on whats happening each day.

Hes joining Roffey when he gets back in April (was with Mayfield the last 2 seasons), and still hoping to get some Sussex 2nds games if he can over the Summer 🤞

Amazingly, its been c.50 days now that hes been out there! Going by so quick. He has about 3 jobs on the go, plus coaching, so hes keeping himself busy!

A great 71 with the bat last weekend vs Old Boys CC for Frankie, and 4-39 bowling this weekend on the 2nd day of the game (their 2 day games are spread over two Saturdays, randomly!) Really settling in now, and has scored over 200 runs and taken 8 wickets for the 1st grade Redbacks team.

Well, hes playing 1st Grade cricket, and also in Regional selection teams (both adult and U18). Says its very similar at times to the level he was playing here with the Academy, and with Mayfield etc, but there are some teams which arent that great.

Nice 55 n/o off 51 balls for the lad on Sunday vs Quirindi - that was after another full day on Saturday vs South Tamworth.

After being thrown in at the deep end 2 days after he arrived in NSW with a 4 day U18 Colts carnival, Frankie made his debut for N. Tamworth 1st XI on Saturday. Scored a solid 21 off 32 balls, but bowled exceptionally well. 5.1 overs, 2 maidens, 5 runs, 2 wickets. Hes fully settled into Aussie...

I guess this thread will be dead for the next few months, but my lad arrived in Tamworth NSW today after a marathon journey taking in 3 plane journeys, via Taiwan, after leaving home at 4pm on Monday! He got picked up from the airport at 7.30 this morning (our time) and was taken straight to the...

Thank you. Hes not been playing for Mayfield much lately as hes been with the Sussex squads so much - but hes really looking forward to getting back into some club cricket once he touches down in Sydney. He did his Level 1 coaching course a couple of weeks ago, and has been asked to go up to...

He had to provide video of his performances for Sussex u18s and 2's before they made a decision, so Im assuming they were happy with what they're getting as hes on the plane soon. Sport is a fickle business though...especially cricket. Score for fun one week, cant buy a run or wicket the next...

Its going to be a long 6 months for mum and dad though! 😏 The fact that Tamworth have provided everything (air tickets, a car to use, work, board) has made it all possible tbh - no way we could afford to do it. We are hoping to get down there in January for a couple of weeks though to see...
