Agree. Let's leave it there.
Evan knows what he needs to do. Let's hope he does it. He'll have circa 30,000 willing him to succeed next time he comes on in a PL game at the Amex.
I hope he comes through.
This is not the forward we are looking for.
If Evan was fit enough for the bench against Crawley; fit enough to come on against England; and likely fit enough to be involved for their next game, then he’s fit enough for the Wolves game.
I hope I’m proved wrong, but I don’t think he’s the type...
True.
Surely he's ready now though. As I mentioned on another thread, if he's fit enough to sit on the bench, he's fit enough to play.
These youngsters nowadays. Made of paper!
He hasn't played since April so I wouldn't say we're rushing him back.
For me, the jury is out on the lad. Hopefully he'll prove me wrong and start banging them in. When he was playing I didn't see enough movement in the box, intelligent runs, or hold up play. Then again, he may not have...
You’re flapping too much.
Yes, Williams challenge was unacceptable and should probably have been a red. But outside of that, until the sending off, then the game was very physical but nothing unusual. Most of the fouls that Fab has angry at was pull backs, shirt pulls etc. This wasn’t a team...
Then he shouldn’t have been on the bench if he’s that delicate. This is a physical League 1 outfit. You know what you’re going to get. If you want to start questioning judgement, then question why he was named as a sub.
Bloody hell there’s some sensitive flowers on here. Yes, Williams should have been sent off, but by the second half we were in control much more and the game had settled. If he’s so fragile that he can’t handle twenty minutes of Crawley then he shouldn’t even be on the bench.
Assuming Toney goes then it makes perfect sense for Evan to be loaned. He needs to prove himself at the highest level and we don’t have time to experiment with him.
For me, the jury is still out. But to be fair to the lad, we’ve perhaps not played to his strengths.
In hindsight, I’m pleased Konate wasn’t shown a red. Against 10 men they may have parked the bus and we’d be in replay territory. Who knows, but at least with 11 it kept it open and more to our advantage.
