Here :dunce: Then, after a few more further denials and another GE :dunce: And here you are ironically moaning about 'liars' :lolol:

For when you're REALLY desperate for attention and can't get any from anyone :lolol:

    [Politics] Labour Party meltdown incoming.......

Absolutely, a silent, futile, pointless protest

    That'll certainly do it

    [Politics] Labour Party meltdown incoming.......

In the hope that one of the NSC brains trust, you, @nevergoagain, @Is it PotG? or @Giraffe would make a fool of themselves and bounce this thread yet again

I thought it was fairly well known that he got up to the very top in the CPS  And he's still way more believable than you :lolol:

So you think one of them is going to break the law, then lie about breaking the law, and then get Starmer to lie about them breaking the law ....... Really ?

    [Politics] Labour Party meltdown incoming.......

Johnson, Truss and Sunak were all found to have broken the parliamentary rules (in some cases many times) on not registering gifts and financial interests in the Register of member's financial interests. So now Starmer, who hasn't broken any rules (or laws, see above) and is doing exactly what...

    [Politics] Labour Party meltdown incoming.......

No. I may not have read your posts as intended, if this is a general observation about politicians declaring interests, and for that I apologise, but that's not what the Times story is saying is it ? it may also be that I'm misreading them because they seem to be interspersed and reacted to by...

    [Politics] Labour Party meltdown incoming.......

I don't suppose that anyone has actually taken the time to read the story linked. This has come to light because Starmer declared these items last Tuesday as a result of seeking advice from the authorities, and the Sunday Times have got round to reporting this today. A Number 10 spokesperson...

The problem is finding a level without introducing the huge costs of means testing this actual benefit, so you are reduced to simple measures, or blunt instruments. I have said all along that the benefits cut off is too low but Martin Lewis thinks that introducing the council tax bands A-C would...

    [Politics] Labour Party meltdown incoming.......

His suggestion of Adding Council tax bands A-C is the best suggestion I've heard throughout all of this, another blunt instrument (or simple to administer) but using both together gives a far better solution  This is what should be done to address that significant number who are just...

Starmer holding himself to higher standards ? Well his predecessor Johnson in his equivalent first 10 weeks Promised to get Brexit Done by 31st October and announced he 'would rather die in a ditch than delay Brexit past that date' Had the Police investigate his awarding of £126,000 of public...

The 2M that Age UK are estimating includes the 880,000 who are entitled to benefits but don't claim. https://www.ageuk.org.uk/norwich/about-us/news/2024/as-many-as-2-million-pensioners-could-face-the-cold-following-winter-fuel-payment-cuts-says-age-uk/ But that is yet another issue that has...

    [Politics] Labour Party meltdown incoming.......

I have no idea, but we do know it isn't even close to any sort of majority of pensioners, so . I have said many many many times I think the cut off should be higher, but nobody seems to have a suggestion, let alone an answer. And 'picking on the most vulnerable in society' is bollocks. For the...

    [Politics] Labour Party meltdown incoming.......

Here you go for some stats https://www.yourmoney.com/retirement/huge-jump-in-the-number-of-pensioners-paying-higher-rates-of-tax/ and this lot believe there will be more pensioners than workers in the higher tax band in a couple of years...

    [Politics] Labour Party meltdown incoming.......

Well if it includes the 10% who currently have an income of over 50K and the 25% who are millionaires, I can imagine it being quite large  (And of course I understand that large proportions of that wealth are tied up in property and pensions, and isn't easily accessible monthly income...

    [Politics] Labour Party meltdown incoming.......

I wondered how long before someone bought up 'the war' which nobody on NSC or any of these pensioners we are talking about were ever involved in
  19. WATFORD zero

    [Politics] Labour Party meltdown incoming.......

I would support it if it didn't target 10% of pensioners based entirely on annual income and consequently bring in 10% of the figure needed. Given that 25% of pensioners are currently millionaires, I personally believe it should move the other way a bit
  20. WATFORD zero

    [Politics] Labour Party meltdown incoming.......

As I've stated before, I would like to see the cut off a little higher, but don't know of any simple way of measuring it. Higher rate tax will currently hit 10% which would not achieve any significant savings, council tax band will measure accumulated wealth with absolutely no regard to income...
