O'Mahoney isn't exactly setting the world on fire at Portsmouth at the moment.
OK, to be fair, leading the line for a team in the Championship is a huge ask for a teenager on his first loan, so in no way am I dismissing the lad; a fine prospect for whom we rightly have high hopes. Just wonder...
Not to be loaned! He has been touted as 'the next big £50M+++ player' for us. I think he could be just that, after a season or two keeping us in a good position league and cup wise.
Loan him out, say to the Championship, or even lower PL, and his potential value drops like a stone - he's just...
The loan route to the first team is right for some - White and Sanchez, for example - while for others, like Hinshelwood and Ferguson, the route is direct from the U21s to the first team. Although we recognise they got it badly wrong with Connolly (he should have gone on loan long before he...

Still, that moment has passed, and even...
In hindsight a half season loan starting in January might have been a good idea, but I doubt the suggestion would have been anything but widely poo-pooed on here!
Yes, there is speculation and there is speculation. This is pure speculation! I know clubs may dangle hugely lucrative contracts in front of him (and with suitable inducements to his agent!) but 21 or 22 would be the ideal age for him to get that mega-move.
I wonder if they've reached the same...
Sadly, Leyton Orient couldn't afford him. Chelsea couldn't sell him, because no-one else would be foolish enough to match the wages. He'd just go to seed, not playing much, and planning how to spend £50M over the next few years.
He will get his big move - ideally career-wise when he's 21 or 22, having honed his trade with us. That would be the common sense route for him (and good for us too) - will common sense for once over-ride the £10M a year (£200K a week) NOW option?
I hope so - but sadly I'm not going to indulge...
