That's not closing academies is it though is it?
And yes the local authority can send children to academies against their will
And I've never heard a parent say " I'm concerned about the local school as it's not an academy" whereas I've heard the opposite a lot.
But according to the article aren't all the really rich people leaving the country? So the divide will shrink and the private schools will have to reduce fees .
According to the article all the things that band make Britain great are being ruined by labour. I'm sure the general population would put millionaires and private schools very high on that list
You are assuming there's a correlation between "bad" schools and popularity and or oversubscription. In my experience there isn't. But the best way to improve those schools ( and therefore support the children attending them) is for them to be as near to full as possible
I think the private schools themselves can claim some credit due to the 9% price rises they've previously done( and seem to do most years).
Still they'll be filling up unsubscribed schools and allowing them to function more efficiently.
Sorry, what was the bad news?
I know, I can't ever remember the Tories blaming a party that was in power 10-14 years ago for their problems. I definitely can't remember them at times blaming previous leadership from their own party while they were in the cabinet
