I'd imagine Gordon Brown isn't happy. The one ex-chancellor who is a huge fan of Reeves is George Osborne, labelling her as a 'mini-me'

Starmer is either serially dishonest or unprincipled so this is no surprise. My fear has always been that a Labour government under Starmer will lead to a lurch even further right next election.
Giving Prescott the keys was the break in tradition, only on that occasion has Labour given the deputy PM residence. Either The Telegraph is very sloppy or deliberately riling up people who won't ever bother to check.
Looks like the Residence Nil-Rate Band was introduced in 2015 at the height of austerity, not really the right priority for the country at that time., makes sense to scrap it.
Awareness, complexity and stigma are the most common reasons. It seems you're blaming the most vulnerable for not claiming, can you not empathise with the vulnerable people affected?
How many of these policies will Labour adopt before being 'forced' to make cuts?

No-one forced them to do this, it was their decision to adopt the policy. Tbh I don't think promising to raise taxes for the highest earners would've changed the winner of the election, the Tories were done.
TBF it is galling to see someone who never criticised the last lot and supported polices that got us in this mess popping up to have a go at any opportunity. Maupay's message on humility should be a lesson.
He said it was needed but wasn't happy about it and apologised to those affected. Do you think MPs should be saying they're delighted to be cutting WFA?
Doesn't appear that hopeful according to this:
