I just think it's quite easy to forget how good a player is when they've been out for a period of time, but can't get a run in the side due to lack of match fitness and the good form of others.
I think the same about Enciso
Just say, the manager thinks Evan isn't the right option for the coming games what do you see as the best alternative?
Georginio furthest forward, Enciso in behind? Is Ayari an option there?
Presumably Evan won't be playing 90 mins, in all the games until Danny is back, so we'll need some...
I didn't claim them to be identical twins
But they do a similar job don't they? Look to get on the ball, back to goal, bring a team mate in, then spin. When the ball is wide, make a run across a defender and attack the space
I don't think we could hope to have a more like for like...
Too simplistic
The goal we scored at the weekend was from Danny, back to goal, holding it up, before the little spin in behind was it not?
That could just have easily been Evan. Him and Danny have a lot of similar qualities
I think this is the most likely explanation.
He's had long spells out with a debilitating illness and has clearly been hacked onto the treatment table, by various dickhead defenders.
What he hasn't had for a long time is a run of games. There's every reason now to think that he'll get a run...
Isn't there a point though that if Evan is in that age group. He got promoted very very young. If he does play under u23 football, he likely won't be the youngest player playing.
I just think that when you use international football to get players minutes, and this is the fault of the ROI set...
Best thing we can do with Evan, is build him back up in the u23's for a few games.
It's stupid for a young player to be doing their return to match fitness at international level, mostly because of the public glare that comes with it.
Let's get the lad some decent minutes in his legs away...
My personal view is that the foul on him by Fabinho in the Liverpool game was the moment when his meteoric early career progress stalled.
But it's still very very early days for Evan. His next few months has got to be about finding form and fitness and learning what this manager wants him to...
I just think they will be sensible with it. O'Shea /ROI set up and the Albion hierarchy will know they have to have a constructive relationship going forward.
I actually think it will benefit us the Evan getting some minutes on his return from injury. He would have done, i'm sure against...
I agree.
Tony will see the bigger picture. He's a businessman. Sometimes in business you deal with someone you don't want to.
The issue I see is that Ferguson is currently injured. I'm sure we would rather we're managing his rehab than someone else
I'm on the same page as you with this one
That challenge from Fabinho was one of the worst fouls i've seen in recent times at the Amex.
I do question whether he should have been playing a few weeks later at Chelsea though
Yes agree.
Look, he was poor yesterday. The worst i've seen him. But I remain convinced he'll be a top striker.
Giving him up and binning of to Coventry didn't work with Gyokeres and Evan has done miles more than he had at that age.
He needs games, he needs to learn his trade, he needs the...
The way I see it, it might not be that soon.
But he's going to be a quality PL striker for the next decade, let's get him in and get through these growing pains.
Let's let the lad know he has our absolute support.
My message to RDZ, (if he would listen to a humble pleb such as myself) on Evan Ferguson would be "persevere, persevere, persevere".
I would also humbly offer this advice to my fellow Brighton fans.
How many strikers do you keep around though?
Enciso and Ferguson both getting injured in the first 4 games is quite unlucky, and there's no confirmation of anything serious with Evan.
Welbeck and Joao Pedro can lead the line. We also know RDZ likes Lallana in that sort of position, so...
